The "Irish Club" Tennis Club has finally been launched!
Our vision for the club is to form a league team that can challenge all surrounding clubs. Although we are aiming at attracting some top players, we would like to have as many social players of all ages and all levels joining up with the ultimate goal of having fun, enjoying the game of tennis and meeting new friends.
We are currently in negotiations with a private company that will resurface and upgrade all the courts. This project is looking good and we are waiting for a decision.
Our resident coach, "Ludolf" teaches upward of 40 students of all ages. He plans to introduce a junior section and organize school holiday tournaments for youngsters. The junior section will become the feeding ground of the senior section thereby growing the club.
Sunday mornings is our social day (Between 9am and 12pm.) and anyone that feels like a game is more than welcome to come down. As the membership grows, we will be able to match all players to those on the same level.
To attract as many members as possible, membership fees are only R150-00 for the year. So even if the last time you held a racquet that was so long ago you can't remember, dust off the takkies, rattle the bones and come down and play!
The beer tastes real good after a little exercise.
